In 1998 to mark the millennium Philippa and I made a series of landart sculptures using 2000 natural elements to make each work. 2000 pine needles were gathered from Cathedral Cove, Coromandel Peninsula, New Zealand and arranged on the sand at low tide. The photograph was made at dawn to light the sculpture in the foreground. I am particularly satisfied by the elemental geometry in the image: square, triangle, circle, and the processional space - through the cave and beyond.
