Weathered Stones

The stones on the beach at Lake Hawea, in Central Otago, in New Zealand come from the highly stratified rock and are worn down to flat smooth pebbles by waves. By stacking them on their sides to make a circle on this big quartz streaked rock by the lake they become strata again.
