These ram’s horn shells wash up on the ironsand beaches of the West Coast of Auckland in New Zealand. They are used here to suggest an exploding galaxy or the sun’s rays. The very low light, just before the sun went down behind the horizon, created the warm colour. Later the tide came in and washed the shells away.
