Kowhai Flower Line

This fallen tree with its split bark was near a kowhai tree in full flower that had attracted numbers of tui, a native New Zealand bird. After they take the nectar the flowers drop to the ground forming a beautiful yellow carpet. They were collected to make this leaf line at Karekare Beach on the West Coast of Auckland, New Zealand.
