This is one of the 12 sculptures made in the millennium year which contain 2000 elements – in this case pumice stones. Pumice is a very soft and buoyant volcanic material which came from the eruption that formed Lake Taupo in New Zealand. They were collected and counted and corralled in a large ring on a pond at Whanganui Bay,at Lake Taupo, New Zealand by using little sticks under the water.
