2000 Shells

This is one of the 12 sculptures made in the millennium year which contain 2000 elements. Two thousand rams horn shells were collected from the beach to make this work on the rippled black sand at low tide. The site was on Karekare Beach on the West Coast of Auckland, New Zealand.
