2000 Pebbles

This is one of the 12 sculptures made in the millennium year which contain 2000 elements. Two thousand round pebbles were collected on the beach to fill this space in a lichen covered rock on the east coast of the North Island of New Zealand. Shortly after the photograph was taken spots of rain speckled the stones making them resemble bird eggs.
