The symbolic line that encircles the earth and connects this series of works refers to the interconnectedness of all living systems. The closed loop is also a metaphor for the principles beginning to be used in the redesign of business practices to minimise environmental impact and move towards a sustainable future.

Each sculpture is made from natural materials found in the environment at each site and will return, in time, to nature.

The project is called The Fine Line because of the fine line we tread between economic prosperity and ecological disaster.

The concept combines our love of adventure and climbing with sustainable design philosophy. In choosing the sites we were not so interested in the highest or most difficult peaks but in beautiful places with unique ecology.
